KARACHI: President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry has asked the Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs Asad Umer to issue directives to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend last date for filing Income Tax (IT) returns by one month up to December 31, 2018, which would be highly appreciated by the business and industrial community.
In a letter sent to Asad Umer, President KCCI said that trade and business activities of business community of Karachi were terribly disturbed because of the Anti-Encroachment Drive in Karachi city initiated under the order passed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, leaving very little time to file income tax returns.
Moreover, the taxpayers have also been facing a lot of difficulties in understanding the newly introduced cumbersome form for filing of Income Tax Returns which consumes a lot of time whereas the deadline to submit IT returns will be ending on November 30, 2018. Hence, the last date for filing IT returns has to be extended up to December 31, 2018.
