KARACHI: A meeting of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) and Association of Builders & Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) noted that desalination is the most effective solution of water shortage in Karachi.

To resolve water distribution, supply and billing were also discussed in the meeting.

 President KATI Danish Khan, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Vice President Maheen Salman, Former President Farhan-ur- Rehman and Masood Naqi represented KATI, on other side delegation of ABAD led by Chairman Muhammad Hasan Bakhshi, Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Anwar Dawood, Vice Chairman Abdul Kareem Adhya, Nussrat Chughtai and others called on KATI.

President KATI Danish Khan briefed about the problems faced by industry due to unavailability of water.

Chairman ABAD Muhammad Hasan said the hurdles faced by construction industry due to water mismanagement and scarcity.

Industry leaders agreed to voice concerns over the issues faced by industry at every level and decided to form a joint committee.

After taking all industry representative bodies taking onboard a core committee will be formed.

The participants showed consensus that desalination is the most effective solution of the water scarcity in Karachi and urged the provincial and federal government to take effective measures to launch such projects, business community is ready to give any possible support.
