KARACHI: Customs Intelligence Peshawar has recovered Afghani fresh apples worth millions of rupees from two trucks near Kohat road, Peshawar.

Under instructions from Director Intelligence and Investigation (Customs)-FBR, Peshawar Dr. Asrlan Subuctageen, the campaign against smuggling of Afghani fresh apples is in full swing.

An information was received by the Director that a sizeable quantity of Afghani fresh apples would be smuggled from tribal area to down country in two trucks.

In pursuance of the said information, the staff of Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation (Customs)-FBR, Peshawar held a secret naka near Kohat Road, Peshawar. The suspected trucks were signaled to stopped the vehicles was searched on spot and found contraband (Afghani Fresh Apples) on the spot.

The vehicle was then brought to the premises of the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (Customs)-FBR, Peshawar where thorough examination led to the recovery of 32 tons of Afghani Fresh Apples, which has been seized along with vehicles. The estimated value of the aforementioned seized goods is around Rs6.4 million.
