KARACHI: MCC Quetta has seized large quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods, which were being transported to interior country.

Information was received through Collector Ashraf Ali that attempts would be made to move smuggled goods. Additional Collectors Zubair Shah and Samiul Haq and Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch tightened the vigilance to foil the attempts.

Subsequently, a ten-wheeler truck was spotted near Kolpur check post moving from Quetta to interior country and on checking huge quantity of Indian Gutka worth Rs50 million was recovered. Moreover, on the directives of FTO, staff at Kolpur check post seized 65,000 liters of smuggled diesel while mobile phones, tiles and 12 kg silver were also recovered in several operations in a couple of days.

The total value of the seized goods is estimated at Rs70 million.  Superintendents Maqsood Durrani, Aslam Khan; Inspectors Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Yousuf Notezai, Mosam Khan, FAreed Rind, Salahuddin Khoso and Asghar Kakar took part in these operations.
