KARACHI: MCC Quetta has recovered huge quantity of foreign origin goods including betel nut and tyres from two passenger trains Jaffar Express and Akbar Express originating from Quetta to down country.

Information was conveyed by the Collector Ashraf Ali to Additional Collector Zubair Shah Preventive, who further directed Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch and subsequently to Superintendents Maqsood Durani and Aslam Khan. Further direction was passed to in-charge Kolpur Check Post Ghulam Hussain khoso and his team Inspector Muhammad Asghar and Sallauddin khoso on arrival of Jaffar Express 39 DN at Much Railway station.

The special team of Customs raided on the said train and recovered 16 used tyres of different size/brands and 12 bags of betel nuts of 100kgs each. Similarly, on arrival of second train Akbar express 23 DN at Much railway station, the special team of Customs recovered 10 Bags of Betel Nut of 100 kgs each and 20-Bags Betel Nuts of 40kgs each from two compartments.

No details of owners of the above mentioned recovered Betel Nut and used tyres were provided by the Railway authorities nor any passenger claimed its ownership.
