KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Monday disposed of a constitution petition filed by a clearing agent against suspension of license.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by Hasnain & Sons who challenged the suspension of license on a complaint filed by one Shehzad. The complainant moved the custom authorities on ground that bills prepared by the clearing agent contain extra-charges which cast aspersions on custom officials.

The custom authorities acting on the complaint issued a show cause.

A counsel from Franklin Law Associates appearing for the petitioner submitted that petitioner replied the show cause after which his license was suspended. The counsel also submitted that complainant has also withdrawn the complaint.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that court has ordered to restore the license but still the show cause is pending before the authorities which means a sword hanging over business activities of the petitioner.

The bench after hearing the counsel for petitioner disposed of the petition with direction to custom officials to not to take any action against the petitioner.
