KARACHI: Anti-smuggling Organization of MCC Preventive Lahore in a well coordinated operation with Motorway Police foiled bid to transport non-duty-paid mobile phones worth Rs8.0 million and arrested two persons.
Information was received through Faiz Ahmad Collector MCC Preventive Lahore to Additional Collector Tayyaba Kayani regarding movement of the smuggled goods.
Subsequently, Deputy Collector, Muhammad Moazzam Raza formed a team led by Superintendent Agha Qadeer Haider.
During the course, two vehicles coming from Peshawar were spotted and on checking the vehicles were found to be stuffed with mobile phones of assorted brands. Detailed examination found 7,000 mobile phone sets worth Rs8.0 million.
The raiding team comprised of Inspectors Abul Hassan, Amjad Khan,Nasir Saeed. A case has been registered against arrested smugglers and further investigations are under way.
