KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Friday fixed June 21 to hear a petition seeking release of a passenger bus which was seized after 3400 litre Iranian diesel was allegedly recovered from a cavity in the bus body.
The bus was ordered to be released after an order in original was passed by the custom authority against payment of redemption fine at a rate of 20 per cent but the same was not implemented against which the instant petition was filed by owner Abdul Wahid.
The bench today after hearing the counsel for petitioner who referred to a an earlier judgment. The bench however said that as per arguments and averments, the bus is a passenger carrier. The bench would like to know that what type of cavity was made to store inflammable material in thousands of litre.
