KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan on Wednesday ordered Nazir to return registration book of a vehicle detained for being used in smuggling.
The bench earlier heard Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate who appeared for petitioner Gul Wali. She submitted that her client was given benefit of section 101 of the Customs Act 1969 and vehicle was given into custody of owner/ petitioner as an interim relief by Hyderabad collectorate. She prayed for an order for return of documents/ registration book etc.
The bench allowed the request.
The same bench in an identical case, ordered production of an oil tanker before it on May 23.
Ghulam Rasool owner of the oil tanker allegedly used for transporting smuggled Iranian diesel moved th court seeking benefit of section 101 of Customs Act 1969.
