KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate of Quetta has seized huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods including betel nuts, Polypropylene Plastic (Dana), Iran origin fabric, cloth, tea, blankets, welding rods, tyres, cigarettes and garments etc.

Information was received through Collector Ashraf Ali to Additional Collectors Samiul Haq and  Zubair Shah who further directed Deputy Collector  Maqbool Baloch and subsequently to  Superintendent Maqsood Durrani.

Durani strictly directed customs check posts Baleli Lakpass, and Shella Bagh officers/officials to coordinate with FC authorities in order to detain smuggle goods coming from borders areas.

Lakpass check posts detained Betal Nuts and Plastic Dana under the supervision of Inspector Ghulam Hussain khoso while inspectors Mir Qalam and Asghar Khan also made efforts.

At Baleli check post Inspectors Muhammad Shabbir Khan, Abdul Ghafoor and Qurban Hussain recovered Malaysian origin pure vegetable oil in bulk quantity ,  brown/black  Indian henna, razor/blades disposable, garments, and other daily misc items.

Inspectors Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihjaz Khan, Aslam Khan Shahkil Ahmed at Shella Bagh another check posts near border area also recovered huge quantity of foreign origin misc items  with the assistance of FC.

The  estimated value of the seized goods mentioned above comes around Rs32 million.
