KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) will announced a judgment it reserved a fortnight back in a number of identical petitions filed by importers of tiles from different sources mainly China.

The petitioner challenged the duty, taxes, regulatory duty and other levies above 37.5 per cent of the value of the imported tiles. The petitioners maintain that they were given and exemption under SRO 497 of 2009, and under the said SRO the cumulative duties cannot be above 37.5 per cent.

As per daily roster of SHC, petitioners, respondents and law officers have been informed that court will announced judgment reserved by it on Monday, April 23.
