SHC orders Customs to produce vehicle on April 23

KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Aktar and Justice Agha Faisal on Monday ordered custom officials to produce a Toyota mark X vehicle before the Nazir of SHC by April 24.

The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by Muhammad Usman, owner of the 2005 model car which was confiscated by the DIT officials.

Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal has passed an order in favor of the petitioner. Kashif Nazeer advocate representing the respondent custom officials submitted that department has filed an STRA which is pending decision. He opposed the plea by the petitioner side but the bench after hearing the sides ordered production of the impounded vehicle before Nazir of SHC by April 23.
