KARACHI: Tahir Qureshi, Collector Adjudication II, Pakistan Customs vacated the show cause notice issued to the DIGICOM Mobile on charge of misdeclaration/description.

According to details, the appellant company which is manufacturer/ assembler, imported mobile parts. The consignments were assessed but later the customs show caused on ground that these parts ultimately would be assembled as mobile phones and thus do not fall into category “parts”. A contravention report was prepared and show cause was issued to the appellant company.

The company through Franklin Law Associates assailed the show before the Collector Adjudication II who after hearing the custom officer concerned and appellant side ordered vacation of show cause while asking the importer to pay custom duty and taxes at applicable rates. No penalty or fine was imposed.
