KARACHI: Advocate High Court Syed Zain-ul-Abedin has approached Directorate General of Customs Intelligence & Investigation seeking details of the confiscated vehicles shifted from state warehouses to the office of Director General Shaukat Ali, which were distributed among friends and family members.
In a letter to Director General Shaukat Ali and directors of Customs Intelligence, Syed Zain-ul-Abedin noted the confidential sources that the huge quantity of tempered /cut and welded, confiscated land cruisers, cars which have been delivered and allocated or sold out on cheapest rates to the personal friends of Shaukat All Director General l&I illegally during his period as Director General, l&I FBR Islamabad.
These vehicles are much costly and mostly have been got self-cut and welded by the officials of different offices before its seizure process from the forensic laboratories.
This act of gifting confiscated costly vehicles by the Director General I&I to his fellows and friends and his son in FIA but showing them as departments in the office documents caused huge loss of government exchequer.
In the light of above being a public documents, it is therefore, requested that supply the above mentioned information about the vehicles and persons these were gifted so that the same matter may be referred to the relevant departments.
