KARACHI: MCC Quetta has recovered miscellaneous goods worth millions of rupees from the secret compartments of two passenger buses coming to Karachi from Quetta.

Information was received through Collector Ashraf Ali that attempt would be made to move smuggled goods through passenger buses.

Additional Collector Zubair Shah and Deputy Collector Mohammad Ibrahim formed a team headed by Deputy Superintendent Maqsood Durrani and comprising Inspectors Ghulam Hussein, Mohammad Bashir, Mohammad Aslam and Ishaq George.

The buses were stopped at Lakhpas check post and during search,  smuggled cigarettes,  gutka and tires were recovered from the secret compartments of the bus.

The goods and buses worth Rs20 million were seized and investigations are underway.
