KARACHI: A newly formed bench which would sit for few days to hear matters pertaining to customs issued notices in dozens of petitions. In a petition filed by F.J Trading Corporation, the bench comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan on Tuesday the bench ordered issuance of notices for Dec 28 to the respondents including Pakistan Customs. The bench earlier heard initial arguments by Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate, counsel for petitioner company who referred to a judgment in a widely relied upon case law known as "Mustafa Impex case". The same bench hearing another petition filed by Eastern Construction Company seeking release of Asphalt Paver Machine ordered issuance of notices to the Pakistan Customs and others for Dec 28. The petitioner seeks interim arrangement on ground that imported machinery do not hit by Import Policy 2016.
