KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Omar Sial on Friday adjourned hearing of a constitutional petition filed by Khas Trading Company which imported hard ware items.
A lawyer from Franklin Law Associates appeared for the petitioner but as none was in attendance from respondent Pakistan Customs, the bench put of hearing till Dec 26. The petitioner challenges a circular issued by the Chief Collector Customs, South denying benefit of section 81 to the importers as per Danish Jahangir’s case.
The counsel for importer submitted that since previous two years, respondents were giving benefit of section 81 of the Customs Act to importers but now the respondent stopped concession under a circular which shall be declared illegal and void.
