KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Wednesday ordered issuance of notices to DIT officials in five petitions identical pertaining to detention of 27 construction vehicles.

The petitions were filed by Burki & Company, Ameer Muhammad Associates, Mushtarka Japan, New Malik Motors and another who maintained that vehicles belong to Rising Sun Construction Company and were imported into Pakistan many years back. These vehicles were parked at the show rooms of the petitioners when DIT people detained the same.

The petitioners also preferred appeals before the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal which ruled in favour of the petitioners/appellants. As the DIT was not implementing the orders of the tribunal, the petitioners moved the SHC which today ordered issuance of notices to the respondent custom officials for Oct 03.
