KARACHI: Peshawar Customs has seized large quantity of smuggled Kenyan tea and arrested two persons.

On information of Mohammad Saleem Director I&I Peshawar a team was constituted by Deputy Director Khial Muhammad who intercepted a truck with active assistance of Nowshera Police.

On search 215 bags of black tea, PFI Kenyean origin was recovered. FIR has been lodged and two persons have been arrested.

Further investigation is underway to arrest the smuggling network. It is worth mentioning that food items smuggling from cross border from Afghanistan may surge within holy month of Ramadan.

However, Pakistan customs is in the forefront to combat the menace of smuggling and ensure the growth of regular trade into the country.
