KARACHI: Taking notice of inordinate delay in release of goods on pretext of procedure, a division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan on Tuesday ordered Pakistan Customs to examine the consignment lying in in-bond Common Pool Fund within 2 weeks.
Earlier Aqeel Ahmed Khan advocate, counsel for an importer submitted that his consignment was detained since more than a year as a result of which his working capital has been blocked. He sought release of consignment as interim relief.
Kashif Nazeer advocate appearing for Pakistan Customs informed the bench that matter pertains to the Public Notice 2016 and could be solved as per said Public Notice alone.
The bench however hearing both the sides ordered respondent Pakistan Custom officials to examine the consignment within 2 weeks.
