KARACHI: MCC Appraisement West has served a Show Cause Notice on M/s Chief Auto Center Pvt Ltd for misdeclaring description and PCT of the imported consignment with an intention to evade government’s legitimate revenue.

M/s Chief Auto Center imported a consignment declared to be excavator/crane diesel engine parts at a decalred value of 1.829 million Japanese yen.

The subject Goods Declaration was selected for scrutiny and was referred to examination for confirmation of description, quantity and other physical attributes of the goods.

On the basis of representatives samples, part numbers, engine type, examination committee concluded that the imported parts primarily meant for use in automotive heavy vehicles such as Hino, Nissan, Isuzu etc.

It was established that the importer deliberately concealed the actual description of the goods and mis-declared the PCT in order to escape the legitimate government revenue to the tune of Rs3.288 million.

On the information of Collector Appraisement West Shahnaz Maqbool, Additional Collector Saleem Memon and Deputy Collector Saeed Watto detected the case. Subsequently Customs Adjudication served the show cause notice.
