KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of hundreds of constitution petitions and Special Custom Reference Applications (SCRAs) till May 15 for want of time.

The cases pertain to the legal challenge to powers by Director, Deputy Director Valuation who imposed custom duty/taxes etc on higher side on the basis of “Guide lines”.

The petitioners maintains that respondents have no power or jurisdiction to levy more custom duty by enhancing the values  while valuation rulings remain in field.
