KARACHI: Justice Shafi Siddiqui of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Wednesday put off hearing in a suit filed by an importer against guideline which has already been suspended by the same bench.
Dany Technologies moved the court against guide line issued by Deputy Director Valuation in respect of TV Tuners. It was maintained by the plaintiff that after import of TV Tuners as routine, GD was filed but the DD, Customs Valuation issued a guideline which arbitrarily fixed the price of unit at US $ 7.40 whereas according to Valuation Ruling, the unit is price at US $ 0.90.
The plaintiff relying on a number of judgments as well as order passed by SHC in a number of suits on identical issue has ordered release of the consignment as well as suspended the valuation guideline.
Today, counsel for Pakistan Customs Appraisement sought time to file a reply. The bench allowing the request fixed March 03 as next date of hearing.
