KARACHI:  Pakistan customs has foiled a bid to smuggle heroin, which was concealed in power banks.

A parcel booked by one Muhammad Zahid Gull Peshawar for Shenzhen China consisting 18 power banks was detained.  Detailed examination of the parcel led to the recovery of 660grams of heroin tactfully concealed inside the power banks.

To dodge Customs staff, one or two cells in the power bank were left in contact with circuit and power were operational at the time of examination.

This is first concealment of this nature detected by Customs. The destination was also new and not suspected for such activity.

FIR has been lodged and investigations are under way.
