KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Monday restrained the Pakistan Customs from forcing a CNG pumping station to pay Sales Tax of Rupees 2.7 million.
The bench was hearing a constitutional petition filed by Hingora CNG Station which challenged a demand raised by Custom asking the petitioner to pay the money through a pay-order against the tax exemption facility availed by the petitioner.
The Custom maintains that as OGRA has not issued final license to the petitioner, his entitlement to avail the tax exemption also barred under the relevant laws. The today while restraining the respondent officials from securing the money, also asked OGRA to decide the issue of license to the petitioner who was represented by Haider sheikh Advocate of Franklin Law Associates under instructions from CEO Fasial Ghani.
