KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed on Wednesday summoned a senior appraiser of Pakistan Customs East in a petition filed by an importing firm Umar & Co.
Ghulam Hyder Sheikh advocate represented the petitioner company. The company imported steel trolls from UAE, other sources worth millions which was not being released by Custom Officials.
Today when the matter came up for hearing no one from respondent side was present.
The bench then asked the Principal Appraiser, Law, Pakistan Customs Ilyas Ahsan to convey both the notice as well as displeasure of the bench for absenting from the today’s proceedings.
The bench fixed Jan 31 as next date if hearing this petition as well as dozens of petitions on the identical issue.
