KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Humayun Khan on Friday ordered respondents Custom officials to place entire record of a case on or before Dec 22.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by M Shehzad Yousuf of Aman Traders through counsel Shafqat Shah masoomi advocate. The counsel submitted that despite payment of custom duty and other taxes, the consignment was not being released. He submitted that even the undisputed part of the consignment was being detained one or another pre-text. He prayed to the court to order release of the consignment as it do not contain any item which is banned.

Kashif Nazeer advocate representing the respondent Pakistan Customs said that owner is absconding and hence matter could not be adjudicated upon by the authorities concerned.

The bench after  a query about undisputed part of consignment on request by counsel for respondents deferred further proceedings till Dec 22 with the direction that entire record be placed before the court on or before the next date of hearing.
