KARACHI: Customs Quetta has tightened the noose around smugglers and almost eliminated movement of smuggled goods.
Collector Quetta Saeed Jadoon has advised the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Quetta to keep strict vigilance and make all out efforts to curb this menace.
In just two days, ASO Quetta headed by Deputy Collector Obaidullah Khan has seized huge quantity of smuggled and non-duty paid goods worth Rs150 million and arrested 16 persons.
In just two days, ASO Quetta seized four trucks loaded with smuggled tyres, three trucks loaded with non-duty paid auto parts and two truck loaded with foreign origin cloth. Moreover, three Corolla-X and a Hino truck were also seized.
The ASO team comprising one superintendent, four inspectors and 15 sepoys have made this remarkable performance using their own resources and no assistance of FC or police was sought in this regard.
