KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Irfan Sadaat Khan and Justice Muhammad Humayun Khan on Thursday issued notices to Collector Customs (Appraisement), Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Deputy Collector (Appraisement), Additional Collector, Secretary Environment Protection Agency and Deputy Attorney General for Nov 30.
The bench earlier heard counsel for petitioner Brothers Recycling which challenged the detention of their scrap consignment. The petitioner maintained that they are the importers of used scrap which is basic raw material for “Pyrolysis plant”. The petitioner is importing the said material for quite some time and in September 2016 Custom Authorities have released consignments but on 13-10-2016 with held a consignment without assigning any reason or legal justification, submitted the counsel for petitioner.
The bench after hearing initial arguments ordered issuance of notices to respondents for Nov 30.
