KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Rasheed Ahmed Soomro disposed of a constitutional petition filed by Medora of London (Pvt) Ltd against Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue, I&P Cell, Zone III. RTO II with the directions that no more harassment be caused to the petitioner.
The bench earlier heard the counsel for petitioner who challenged the show cause notice dated 20-11-2013 on ground that the petitioner company evaded payment of Income Tax. The counsel relied upon an order passed by Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue RTO II who declared that action by the AC, IR on the basis of the complaint as being ill-founded. The authority further held that there was no concealment or evasion on the part of the petitioner company.
The bench after hearing the counsel for respondent IR while disposing of the petition directed the respondents not to harass the petitioner as it would amount to vexing them on same set of allegations.
