KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Valuation Karachi has revised the customs values of gypsum board, gypsum tile and fiber cement board vide Valuation Ruling No.951/2016.
Customs values of gypsum board, gypsum tile and fiber cement board were earlier determined vide Valuation Ruling No.777/2015. Certain importers have requested for revision of the same in the light of order of High Court as the same were 90 days old.
Director Wasif Memon formed a team comprising Additional Director Iqbal Muneeb, Deputy Director Nausheen Riaz, Principal Appraiser Mohammad Aslam and Appraising Officer Nadeem Shaikh to determine the values of goods under PCT 6809 and 6811 afresh.
There has not been a significant change in the customs values, however Valuation Ruling 951/2016 also defines customs values of goods of other origins in addition to China, Thailand, Middle East and India.
The customs values of Gypsum Board (plain) of China/Thailand are fixed at $0.225/kg, of Middle East at $0.24/kg, other origins at $0.265/kg. The customs values of Gypsum Board (decorated) of China/Thailand are fixed at $0.25/kg, of Middle East at $0.27/kg, other origins at $0.30/kg.
The customs values of Fiber Cement Board (plain) of China/Thailand/India are fixed at $0.21/kg, other origins at $0.24/kg.
