KARACHI: Pakistan Customs Staff of the MCC Islamabad has foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics to UK and seized 500gms of purified heroin worth Rs5.0 million.
On specific Information of Collector Arslan Subuctageen, the international mail office staff seized a narcotics consignment of 500gms of Purified Heroin from an outward bound parcel which was booked from Dudyal Mirpur for Birmingham, UK, containing a lady handbag . The heroin was artfully concealed inside the bag.
An FIR has been lodged by Customs with the I&P Branch and investigations have been initiated.
This is the sixth consecutive detection of narcotics by the Islamabad customs staff posted at the international mail office. The Collector Customs has appreciated the concerned officers and staff on this performance and recommended cash reward.
