KARACHI: Justice Salahuddin Panwhar of High Court of Sindh (SHC) hearing a contempt of court application in a suit filed by Amer Saeed, importer of Granite from India adjourned hearing till next week against Collector Customs, Assistant and Deputy Collector Customs of East and West.
Khawaja Shams-ul-Islam advocate appearing for the applicant/plaintiff maintained that court has ordered release of the imported consignments but the respondents are not implementing the same.
Kashif Nazeer advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that Goods Declaration (GD) in respect of few consignments have been filed by the plaintiff/applicant before the Collector Customs east which would be processed and decided as per law while no GD was filed in respect of consignments pertaining to Collectorate of Customs West hence no consignment be released by West Collectorate.
The bench seeking details dispensed the Collectors from personal appearance while adjourning hearing of main contempt application in next week.
