KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Khadim Hussain Shaikh disposed of a petition filed by Chick Solution in 2014 under an order dated 18-9-2014.
Ghulamullah Adovcate appearing for the petitioner company submitted that there were more than 100 identical petitions filed by different companies against a Valuation Guide Line issued in respect of Poultry equipment under which the Custom Duty and other taxes were increased by more than 150 per cent. The SHC declared the said guide line as null and void on ground that the Additional Collector, Pakistan Customs was not competent to issue such guideline.
The bench disposed of the petition in terms of the order passed on 18-9-2014 under which Valuation department was ordered to assess the goods of the petition under section 25 (1) of the Customs Act 1969.
