KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the Customs valuation for Friday, August 05 in a constitution petition filed by Ashraf Traders and three other importers.
Ghulamullah advocate appearing for the petitioner said that Director, Customs Valuation issued a Valuation Ruling 863 of 2016 violating the method prescribed in the section 25-A of the Customs Act 1969. He submitted that Valuation department is bent upon assessing the consignment which have just arrived at port. He referred to identical petitions and order passed by the same bench.
The bench after hearing initial arguments ordered issuance of notices to the respondents including Director Valuation for Aug 05.
