KARACHI: The Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation – FBR has seized large quantity of plastic toys, as thee importer M/s Dost Traders attempted to get these goods cleared through mis-declaring the weight.
An information was received that M/s Dost Traders was involved in mis-declaration of net weight and assessable value of plastic toys at import stage aiming at to defraud public exchequer.
Monitoring was kept on an under clearance consignment of the said importer. Upon examination, it was found that the weight of goods was 2.495 tons in excess of the declared weight. KICT Weighbridge found gross weight at 19.64 MT as against declared 17.656 MT.
The importer attempted to evade duty/tax of Rs0.784 million. The imported voluntarily tendered pay order for Rs0.785 million.
