KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Friday issued notices to the Federal Secretary Interior, Director Immigration and Passports, Karachi and other respondents for June 23 in another contempt of court application filed by model Ayyan Ali who was prevented from leaving Pakistan on Wednesday.

Qadir Khan Madhokhel advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that earlier in the day, Secretary Interior appearing before the SHC bench submitted a compliance report to the effect that name of Ayyan has been removed from the Exit Control List (ECL). She booked a seat in  the evening thereafter and when she approached the FIA counter for immigration, she was told that her name has been included in the ECL again. Upon inquiry it was found that the new inclusion was on the basis of a statement by widow of a FIA officer who died in mysterious circumstances while probing money laundering cases.

My client is not name or nominated in this particular case and hence placing his name in ECL again shows the mala fide of government, submitted Mandokhel advocate. He added that Secretary Interior made a mis-statement before the court and thus liable to be proceeded against on charge of contempt of court.

The bench after hearing the counsel for applicant/petitioner Ayyan Ali issued notices to the alleged contemnors.
