KARACHI: The Investigation and Prosecution branch of Pakistan Customs, Preventive submitted interim charge sheet before Special Court for Control of Narcotic substances against accused in custody Muhammad Naeem and three absconding accused namely  Abdul Razzak, Ramzan and Sardar Muhammad.

According to details available with Custom News, The value of the contra band and vehicle in which it was smuggled comes to about rupees 21,500,000.

As per interim charge sheet, a credible information was received that a Hino truck bearing registration number TWK 576 would be used for smuggling charas from Quetta to Karachi for onward  smuggling. The Custom officials mounted a vigil and spotted the truck at Moachko check point, RCD Highway. The driver was asked about presence of any illegal item or material which he denied. Later on checking, the truck was found empty but a thorough check lead to the recovery of 161 KG charas concealed under the driver’s seat while 200 Kg was found from roof of driver’s cabin.

The accused Naeem during interrogation told the investigating officer that he was jobless for a year and was approached by a absconding accused Ramzan who offered him rupees 50,000 per trip but was arrested on first trip. The Investigating Officer also got the vehicles examined and as per report it was found that chassis number of the truck has been tampered which showed that absconding accused along with arrested accused attempted to smuggle in the contra band.
