KARACHI: The mobile squad of MCC Gwadar has seized 7,000 liters of Irani diesel and huge quantity of Indian gutka worth millions of rupees along with two Mazda trucks at Kurkhera check post.
Additional Collector Junaid Memon is heading the team comprising Assistant Collector Kaleemullah and Superintendents Saleem Khokhar and Aslam Baig. This team is monitoring RCD highway to check movement of smuggled diesel. They have been briefed to keep an eye on fake Goods Declarations also as these unscrupulous elements would resort to alternates.
Collector MCC Gwadar Saeed Akram was assigned a task to eliminate the smuggling of Irani diesel as money made through this dirty business is the prime source of funding separatist elements in Balochistan. Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan on the reports by sensitive agencies tasked Saeed Akram to look into this matter.
MCC Gwadar has made significant progress against the smuggling of Irani diesel with the help of Frontier Constabulary (FC). Last week MCC Gwadar seized 60,000 liters of smuggled Irani diesel. Around 80,000 liters more was seized in the month.
IG FC Balochistan Maj. Gen Sher Afghan has advised Colonel FC Hub and Bella to cooperate with Customs in the campaign against smuggling.
