KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan ordered release of a consignment of Orange brand industrial sewing machines against payment of custom duty and taxes at declared value and payment of amount of difference between declared value and assessed value with the Nazir of SHC.

The bench earlier heard Adnan Motan advocate, appearing for the petitioner company who maintained that due to dispute valuation of needles, entire consignment which contains Glue sticks, promotional material was detained causing loss to the importer.

The bench after hearing the sides ordered release of the consignment on payment of custom duty and others taxes in respect of undisputed items while payment of differential in case of disputed item or sewing needle from Republic of Korea.
