KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprisinf Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan refused hearing and relief in a petition filed by a soap manufacturer challenging customs duty before his consignment is  assessed.

Ghulamullah advocate appearing for the petitioner A.K International and citing the Secretary Board of Revenue, Collector Customs Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Director Valuation and Director General,Valuation, respondents in the petition said that Valuation Ruling 737/ 2015 has been impugned in many petitions.

Inspite of a decision pending before SHC, Custom authorities are assessing the consignments imported by petitioner at a rate of US $ 0.70.

The bench asked that whether his goods have been assessed, Goods declaration filed. The petitioner counsel said that he is seeking fixing value of goods before assessment.

The bench after this reply refused to hear the petition.
