KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed on Friday disposed of a review application filed by Pakistan Customs against an order passed earlier by the same bench.
The bench disposing of a constitution petition by Badar Computers ordered release of the consignment consisting of cloth of Indian origin against payment of duty, taxes, fine and penalty.
The Custom later questioned the said order of release of goods of Indian origin maintaining that such goods can only be confiscated and could not be released as per import policy and other relevant rules.
Today when the application came up for hearing, Ilyas Ahsan, Principal Appraiser Law, Pakistan Customs said that appellate forum has passed an Order in Orginal and ordered confiscation of goods being banned under Import Policy order.
The bench after this statement disposed of the review application also directing the petitioner/respondent Badar Computers to avail alternate remedy available to them.
