Karachi: Special Court for Customs Karachi headed by Syed Faiz Rasool Shah Rashidi on Wednesday adjourned hearing of two cases pertaining to pilferage of Afghan Reverse Cargo till Jan 04 after Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) of Pakistan Customs submitted two FIRs.
Shahid Ansari, Waseem Ahmed, Bilal Shahid and Asif Shahid were shown absconders in the case. One of the case pertains to Bhains Colony Yard in respect of 162 containers and another in which 296 contained were found to be pilfered.
The custom officials appearing before the court maintained that accused are at-large and raid are being conducted for their arrest. They maintained that case may turn out to be biggest scam in recent times hence the Customs need time to arrest the absconding accused, make recoveries and ascertain scale of the pilfered goods including some which are threat to national security.
