KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate of Exports has booked an exporter and Customs agents for exporting the consignments of gold & jewelry against fake Form-E and thus depriving the economy of valuable foreign exchange to the tune of $11.643 million.
According to details, Collector MCC Exports Agha Shahid Majeed received this information that M/s B.D Enterprise had exported consignments gold and jewelry against fake and forged Form-E.
Export documents were scrutinized and it was revealed that the exporter had exported 11 consignments in the year 2012 against fake documents.
The concerned bank confirmed that all the eleven Form-E were fabricated.
It is pertinent to mention that the intention of the exporter was to shun the realization of foreign exchange of $11.643 million in the homeland.
Model Customs Collectorate of Exports has lodged an FIR against Bilal Qamar of M/s B.D Enterprises, Customs agents M/s Kashan Enterprises and M/s Amir Sons while further investigation is underway.
The entire gold and jewelry export data is being scrutinized and more FIRs are anticipated going forward.
