KARACHI: MCC Port Muhammad Bin Qasim has prepared the contravention report against a M/s Sehar Soap & Chemicals for importing used edible cooking oil and inedible oil in the garb of mixture of fatty acids.

Acting on information, CIU MCC Port Qasim intercepted a consignment imported by the above mentioned importer.
The consignment was examined and two different qualities of liquid were found, representative samples were sent to HEJ Laboratory.

According to the laboratory report, the samples were found to be mixture of fatty acids and used vegetable oil/fats instead of mixture of fatty acids as declared. According to the Import Policy Order import of used vegetable ghee and cooking oil is ban in Pakistan.

Hence, it has been developed that the importer in connivance of clearing agent M/s Sealand Agency misdeclared the actual description and quantity and tried to clear the ban items worth Rs0.738 million.

The contravention has been submitted for adjudication.
