KARACHI: Shahanshah Husnain, Collector of Customs Adjudication, after performing his duties honestly and efficiently has retired on May 0, 2014.
Shah issued 122 judgments in nine months involving revenue of Rs2.5 billion. During his tenure, he issued quite prudent orders with a very nominal bounce rate and his judgments were upheld by the superior forums.
Sources said that there had been a practice in past that the adjudication orders were issued on ‘done’ basis i.e. some consultants had developed a system where they could obtain orders in their favor against obvious considerations. However, Shahanshah seriously discouraged this practice.
