KARACHI: Fate Wing of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed the Awan Law Associates Karachi to take up the issue of fixation of service charges on goods with ports and shipping authorities, a notification said.
This case does not fall in the ambit of section 7 of FBR Act, 2007 however, Section 9 of the Customs Act, 1969 empowers FBR to notify only places as customs ports and customs-airport.
The board notified the declaration of customs-ports and custom airports that the places which alone shall be land custom-airports for the clearance of goods or any class of goods imported or to be exported, customs-stations for the clearance of goods or any class of goods imported or to be exported by land and inland water ways and the routes by which alone goods or any class of goods specified in the notification may pass by land or inland waterways into or out of Pakistan.
The FBR has authority to select the places of shipments and purpose of this act be deemed to be a custom house and the limits thereof.
