KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has revised the customs values for the import of old and second hand machinery vide Valuation Ruling No. 571/2013.
According to details, a representation was made by the All Pakistan Power Looms Association before the Honorable Tax Ombudsman for determination of customs values of old and used second hand machinery.
Subsequently, recommendations were given by the Tax Ombudsman. The Directorate General filed a representation against Ombudsman findings before the President of Pakistan, but the recommendations of Ombudsman were upheld.
Therefore, an exercise to determine the customs values of subject goods was carried out.
According to the revised determination, old and used second hand textile machinery made of stainless steel (computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $5.0/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, Europe, USA shall be assessed at $4.0/KG.
Old and used second hand textile machinery made of stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $4.0/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $3.0/KG.
Old and used second hand textile machinery made of non-stainless steel (computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $2.5/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, Europe, USA shall also be assessed at $2.5/KG.
Old and used second hand textile machinery made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used looms made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used circular knitting machinery made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used two for one twister/twisting machinery made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used winder/winding machinery made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used dobbies/jacquard made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used boilers made of non-stainless steel (non-computerized) of Japan, Europe, USA origin shall be assessed at $1.65/KG while machinery of all origins except Japan, USA and Europe shall be assessed at $1.40/KG.
Old and used printing machinery with standard of all origins shall be assessed at $4.65/KG.
Old and used industrial sewing machine Juki MB & DL series of Japan origin shall be assessed for taxes/duties at $300/unit.
