KARACHI: The Model Collectorate of Customs (MCC) PaCCS’s post-clearance audit has starting bearing fruit as in a case of short payment of duty and taxes, the importer has paid Rs6.0 million into the exchequer.
This post-clearance audit has been launched by Collector Customs, Amer Ahmed and it is expected that this campaign would result in recovery of hundreds of millions of rupees short-paid or avoided because of different reasons.
According to details, the audit detected short levied customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs6.0 million against a commercial import of a consignment of printed circuit board for 14-inch television sets.
As soon as this incident was known the MCC PaCCS initiated recovery of the short-paid duty and taxes.
The importer has deposited the amount into the exchequer on Friday.
