KARACHI: The appraisement and export activities at Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) PaCCS remained largely effected on Saturday as the One Customs system could not operate due to unavailability of electricity resulting in a loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.
The clearance activity of PaCCS, however, carried on normally meeting its electricity requirement through the standby generator but there was no activity at One Customs since the system’s standby generator was out of order.
The electricity supply by Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) remained suspended throughout the day at the Collectorate as the company was undertaking some overhauling and maintenance into its distribution system.
The clearance activity at One Customs remained almost suspended as the e-filing and other operations could not be carried on due to which duty/taxes to the tune of millions could not be collected.
